Background
Most fish farm processes are manual and tedious. Farmers do not know if the fish batch is healthy or if a small virus would kill the whole batch. Siemens worked with a fish farm to improve the fish's batch health through real-time monitoring and predictive analytics via a real-time dashboard. This aids the farmers in forecasting their supply and hence sales via their chain.
Challenge
Ongoing requirement efforts has been gathered by colleagues with a legacy system. However, there was no complete end-to-end visual output to the research and findings and an urgent outcome was required. I was tasked to go onsite at an offshore fish farm to better understand the processes and key requirements that is required to be captured for a good fish batch. Having known some of the challenges, I proposed a new livestock dashboard. How might we provide a comprehensive dashboard that appeals to various users from the c-executives to the working levels with various indicative KPIs for the respective users to act on?
Solution
Siemens Livestock dashboard give view of the various fishfarms for CEOs and working levels groups in real-time. This allows for better immediate reactions and forecasting with historical analytics to prevent a bad fish batch. For a high overview, key KPIs and country- fleet level views in both visual and analytical format. Down to the site, plant and individual tank overviews that includes Tank Process Monitoring, Biomass Development, Livestock Health Status, Equipment Status and many more.
Recognition
Project was showcased at the new revamped Siemens Advance Manufacturing Transformation Centre to Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Gan Kim Yong and many other visitors.
